Feb. 6 - I decided I wanted to try knitting a project for threadknits and gathered some possible ideas together but couldn’t make a decision so put it off for later. I mean, I waited for inspiration to strike.
Feb. 8 - I decided to try to make something based on the TypeTee Procrastinators: Leaders of Tomorrow. My original idea was to submit a photo of yellow and brown yarn, but the rules require at least five photos, so I thought I should at least have a plan for something even if I purposely don’t finish it in time. I didn’t want to knit a yellow canvas and stitch the phrase, so I thought “I should knit a leader of tomorrow…who can that be?” A later 'gator seemed like just the right sort of procrastinator to be a leader, or at least an eater, of tomorrow.
Feb. 9 - I looked through my stash for yarn and decided the 'gator had to be yellow with brown eyes to reference the shirt. Besides, I didn't have alligator-colored yarn and didn't want to order some and risk the shop and/or postal service delaying my project with their procrastination. Leaders of tomorrow know to be responsible for their own procrastination!
Feb. 10 -
Early A.M. - I am using the Eddie Lizzard pattern from Cheezombie and lengthening the snout to look more like a 'gator. I cast on the first stitches and worked steadily until I finished the main body. Then I started one leg but couldn't figure out the toes and decided to step back from the project to gain some perspective. Yes, that is what it was.
Later: Inspiration hit me and I figured out how to knit the toes!
Late P.M. - I finished the rest of the 'gator. It is ready to become a leader of tomorrow! I just need to arrange for a photo shoot.
Feb. 11 - The photo shoot was a success! Next I need to upload the project to threadknits. That means retyping my project notes. That will be tedious and I don't feel like doing that right now.
Feb. 18 - Today is a good day for uploading this project! Even with all the procrastinating, it was finished and hopefully will be uploaded in time! First I need to make something to drink while I go through the photos from the other day and decide which ones to upload.
Feb. 28 - I don't know what happened, but I'm determined to finish typing up these notes and finally add the project! Tomorrow is the deadline, and even if my 'gator doesn't win any big prizes, it will still be ahead of any entries that will be submitted tomorrow! Leader of Tomorrow, indeed!
