Hello!
The navy background of this pillow is knitted (stockinette stitch), however, everything else is crocheted. I submitted this in the crochet section since all the details of the design (i.e. ice cream cone, doughnut, hose and sprinkles) are all crocheted.
I made everything up as I went along, and I didn't use a pattern! As it turns out, it was a lot of fun not using a pattern...
The ice cream cone is all single crocheted. The white ice cream is actually two separate pieces (single and double crocheted) stitched together with yarn. The pink doughnut is single and double crocheted. All of the sprinkles are a simple chain stitch. Each individual sprinkle is attached by pulling each end of the sprinkle through to the back and then tying each end together in a knot. The arms/legs are simply a chain stitch, and the hands and feet are single crocheted stitches repeated in the same chain.
This is actually a pillow cover; a single crocheted stitch was used to combine the two sides together. The bottom was not stitched together, but left open. It is instead held together with 6 buttons so it can slip off the pillow.
I would say it took me approximately 3 days to complete this pillow cover.
