This piece is a labor of love: my love of Threadless, my love of knitting, and my love of funky astronauts. My goal for this challenge was to interpret a Threadless design into a whimsical toy. This is the first time I have created a piece this elaborate without a pattern. I just started with the helmet, worked down to the body and limbs, and finished with my favorite part-- the rocket pack and rainbow! Altogether, my astronaut only took me 4 days (only because I discovered the contest 4 days before the deadline! Ah!).
