Everybody Loves A Yeti Hand-Puppets!!!
I think this shirt is adorable so what better way to show my appreciation than some knit hand-puppet theater.
This knitting project went along like so many of them do...
January 5th: The new year is filled with inspiration and possibility. I buy all my supplies and commence with my knitting frenzy.
January 8th: The yeti is done! I'm already knitting the body of the big person (Mom? Grandmom? who knows) but I'm in great shape time-wise and having fun!!
January 15th: Motivation is fading. I haven't knitted in a week.
Feburary 15th: Haven't touched the project in a month. The deadline looms and yet I remain inactive.
Feburary 27th: Now that it's highly possible that I haven't left myself time to finish I become determined to do so and start working again...
Tech Specs:
Most of this knitting was done with double pointed needles (the bodies, furry head pieces etc.) To make the faces I felted a rectangle of wool in the sink and then needle felted on the features. Most of the yarn used was 100% wool (for felt-a-bility) and the white "fur" was made using Lion Brand "Fun Fur". After the puppets were knitted and assembled I stuffed the heads and bodies to give them the appropriate girth.
I am most especially proud of the tiny mittens on the little kid. Putting those little thumbs on there was not easy!!!
Thanks to my amazing boyfriend for animating the yeti who was much too big for my hand :)
